Can you please stop changing her info, you do not know her you are wrong about her age and height & measurements. She is currently 5'7. She was born on January 25 1988 & her measurements are 36D - 25- 40 inches. This is all fact. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SmokeyTokey77 (talkcontribs) 10:49, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Articles on CSI episodes

User:TenPoundHammer has been redirecting all the articles on episodes of CSI: Las Vegas, CSI: Miami and CSI: New York to the articles on these shows' seasons. Some articles were still from minimal to inexistent, but some were already full despite the need for some revision, such as Turbulence (CSI: NY), or needing just a little augment, such as Kill Clause (CSI: Miami). Should these removals be reverted? They can be considered vandalism, even if unintentional. You're the only film/television editor I could find. An Administrator would perhaps add to the decision. Give Reason

Hey, i noticed you reverted the accolades-template addition on Gossip Girl's article (this one). Does it create any problem? if not, than why you deleted them? i just need to know if there is any valid reason behind this; so that in future i never do such mistakes. Bill william compton (talk) 10:53, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

American Psycho

Have you actually read the book? Sounds like someone's just watched the (rather bad) movie... The character's name is Paul Owen in the novel. Bit overzealous in reverting to a blatant error, no? --124.168.46.172 (talk) 08:32, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

(All you did was revert to the name used in the film. Take the whole sentence out if the article is being true to the book (there are other discrepancies).) --124.168.46.172 (talk) 08:38, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

I have read the book 4 or 5 times, so no need to lecture me on it. The character is named Paul Owen in the novel, yes, but that actual scene (Bateman panicking over the apartment) does not actually happen in the book, and the article is not centric to the book only. This user is banned? Is this a sock of someone else? tedder (talk) 15:18, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

Please Do Not Bite the New Editors

Thank you very much for Helping to stop 'Disruptive Editing' however, the 'disruptive editing' warning you gave to User Jccope1029 on 03:49, 26 February 2011 (UTC) was unwarranted given the simple facts of how long the user has been registered (Jccope1029 reg date and time per 'user creation log' is 03:35, 26 February 2011) and the type of edits they made (incorrect Wiki code). In the Future Please review Thoroughly and completely all edits you think may be 'disruptive' before labeling them 'disruptive'. Thank you ]

Iamiyouareyou (talk) 14:20, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Please do not encourage new editors to make bad edits by disparaging another editor. Whether you agree or disagree with Nymf is irrelevant. You need to think about what you've done. You removed a valid welcome message that had useful links that the editor in question obviously did not read before continuing to make inappropriate edits. Nymf's warning was a second warning, and that's the correct thing to do when the first warning has been ignored. You have NO business removing, changing or striking the comments of other editors, nor do you have the right to frame your comments as a personal attack, by using words such as "brash" and "mean". If you had something to say you could have added it, you could have given your cookies, even a bunch of flowers if you felt so moved, but you must leave other comments alone unless they breach a Wikipedia policy. If User:Jccope1029 wants to remove the comments, he/she can do so, but not you. I will restore that page. I will leave your comments as they are, except to remove your personal attack which is not acceptable per WP:No personal attacks. Anyway that's not why I'm here. Rossrs (talk) 15:40, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
Thank you, Rossrs. I appreciate that. It should also be noted that it took 6 reverts for me to leave that message (as the user was doing the same edits as an IP just shortly before registering). I am all for not biting the newbie, but when it doesn't sink in the first 5 or 6 times, there is not much else to do. Nymf hideliho! 04:02, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
No problem. I'm in favour of not biting the newbies too, but when that's tried and it fails, it's much better to nip the problem in the bud. A gentle nip early on is better than a massive bite later. Rossrs (talk) 07:10, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

Why I'm here

While I agree that not every news article needs to be included in a page, I believe that demanding a raise to 3 million dollars per show is worthy of the page. Speedy deletion declined: Jesse Pearson

Hello Nymf. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 20:53, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Laraine Day

Hi. I wanted to thank you for rolling back the edits of Josh Rumage and his socks. He tends to cover a lot of articles so rolling them all back by myself is quite a pain. Just to let you know, I reverted your rollback on the Laraine Day article because I went through yesterday (after realizing who was editing the page) and attempted to get rid of the content added by Josh's socks. Some of the content added was actually constructive but as usual, the majority of it was rubbish. If you have issue with this, please let me know. Pinkadelica 18:45, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

No worries. I don't take issue with that. When I revert banned users I don't do it because their edits might be rubbish, but because I believe that they should not be able to bruteforce their edits/POV onto Wikipedia. Cheers for picking up on the sock, by the way! I've dealt with Josh Rumage before, and he is quite a pain. Nymf hideliho! 20:18, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Hello there sweet transvestite from transsexual Transylvania

Ha ha, and jeez put some clothes on would ya!

Sorry, but this flippant introduction is a reference to your nemesis, Neptunekh2, well I came across them at the help desk last night and, on visiting their user page and talk page, assumed that they were a new user who had gone ballistic on their user page and then proceeded to edit enthusiastically, without reading WP guidelines. I also noted that they have a userbox indicating Asperger's Syndrome so I have tried posting to their talk page (kid gloves and all that).

Well, then I saw the charming posts to your talk page (hence the title of this section) and the person's regular blanking of their talk page, totally ignoring any messages and so on from other editors etc. Do you patrol this person? I have checked several of the diffs from last night and saw that you had reverted them. I have just installed Twinkle, so in the edit history I assume if there is [rollback] this page has not been checked?

Where do we go from here? (chez moi ou chez toi, ooh là là)

Tongue firmly in cheek. CaptainScreebo Parley! 18:44, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. I see that you're one of the more active contributors to Adele's page. Discuss

Are you willing to discuss your edits, or would you prefer to edit war? Also, I expect that henceforth you will stop reverting changes to filmography with edit summaries claiming WP:ACCESS, because 1) your repreated reverting of anything that would fix a problem for readers demonstrates that your edits are not about readers, but about something else. 2) I don't see anything about rowspan and colspan on the ACCESS page, so any revert on that basis appears per se invalid. Gimmetoo (talk) 08:35, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

I have engaged in discussions more than once. Just recently at Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_(dates_and_numbers)#Clarification_needed_on_WP:DATESNO as well as Talk:Chelsea_Kane#endashes; you know that, so stop trying to potray me as I am blindly reverting or edit warring (as a matter of fact, if this constitutes as edit warring, you are doing the exact the same thing.)
By using rowspans you unequivocally break the page for any screen reader. Wikipedia:ACCESS#Tables deals with this. If you are referring to this most recent edit, WP:DEVIATIONS is the section you should look at.
Furthermore, I propose you take what people has been telling you in the above two discussions to heart. Nymf hideliho! 08:55, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
Do you have any solution here other than to "suggest" that I let you do anything you want, no matter how questionable its policy basis or how much disregard it shows for readers? Let me repeat again - there is nothing in WP:ACCESS about rowspan and colspan that I see. So where is it? Gimmetoo (talk) 08:58, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
That you let me do whatever I want? It is you doing the change. Again, please refer to the previous discussions. To answer your question on accessibility, MOS:DTT shows the preferred style of tables. Nymf hideliho! 09:27, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
Here is another relevant part (re: rowspans). Nymf hideliho! 09:30, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
Yep, and right at the start that says "this criterion is not part of any accessibility referential". and see the comments on the next line. No, it is you who are making a change. You are cooperating in implementing a filmography style over objections. Are you willing to allow any modifications to improve that filmography style? Gimmetoo (talk) 09:35, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
MOS:DTT is still relevant though, and the "internal guidelines" link shows the rationale behind not using it. We have a consensus (Wikipedia:ACTOR#Project style recommendations) at the WP:ACTOR project for the tables, so it is not me proposing the style. I know, yada, yada... "it's only a project." Nymf hideliho! 09:41, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
There are multiple facets to this issue, and they rather hang together. The problem is that those who put together this filmography format did not consider problems it caused. Had they been open to discussion, things might have been different. But here we are. The rowspan stuff relates mostly to sorting. Do we need sorting? Not really. But if we're going to have it, it should work, even for date ranges. It's easy to make it work. So why do you really oppose anything that would make it work? Please don't tell me you think the MOS requires dashes, because that's not correct, as the MOS discussion showed. Really, I am having trouble figuring out your motivation. When an editor has a bee in his bonnet about some trivial typographical issue, I usually at least get out of the way, and maybe help if I think it improves things. So now I have a bee in my bonnet about this, which concerns actual functionality, and I can't understand your response. What is really your motivation? Gimmetoo (talk) 10:09, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
There are more issues to rowspan than sorting. Have a look at what a table with rowspan sounds like using a screen reader at User:RexxS/Accessibility, or what it looks like using a text browser. The user base you are introducing this "fix" for is small and trivial (there are most likely even less users who actually uses the function in question), and removing sortability for this could be interpreted as disruptive and pointy. What is your issue with letting Wikipedia evolve and adapt? Nymf hideliho! 10:53, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
I don't particularly care to "remove" sortability, I care that the function works; it is only because certain editors refuse to let it be made to work that they allow no alternative but a non-working form. It is trivial to make it work, and the fix should have, through normal evolution and adaptation of the wiki, have long-since become standard for these tables. Please, help me understand your motivations. Gimmetoo (talk) 17:27, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Please pardon my intrusion, but both rowspans and colspans can be detrimental to accessibility as well as usability (e.g. sorting). My colleague Dodoiste was too literal when he wrote "this criterion is not part of any accessibility referential". It is true that it is not part of the W3C standards, but many US government websites have to conform to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the result is typically this (taken from the Inland Revenue Services site at http://www.irs.gov/irm/part2/irm_02-025-005.html - section 2.25.5.4.5.7 Data Tables, Technical Requirements (g) and (h) ):

"1. Technical Requirements (g) and (h). Row and column headers shall be identified for simple and multi-level data tables. Markup shall be used to associate data cells and header cells for data tables that have two or more logical levels of row or column headers." ...
"5. The scope attribute shall be used whenever possible to provide an association between a header and its related information.
  • The "scope" attribute is the most effective way of making HTML compliant with Technical Requirements (g) and (h). The scope attribute also works with some (but not all) assistive technology in tables that use "colspan" or "rowspan" attributes in table header or data cells." - my emphasis in bold

Now, I don't claim that we must slavishly follow what the US government does. I don't want to invade Iran, for example. Nevertheless, there is a clear indication that sufficient people have found rowspan/colspan to cause problems with assistive technology that web design guidelines have been written for major sites to avoid such problems where possible. There really is an improvement for some of our most disadvantaged users if we do our best to create tables without rowspan/colspan. I'd encourage you to do the same. --RexxS (talk) 04:33, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

RexxS, please do not intrude. We know how well that worked that last time you did. It is Nymf's job to respond and explain Nymf's motivation. Gimmetoo (talk) 04:43, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
You know, I thought we had a good result last time. Everybody came out a lot better informed about a lot of things. You really could do yourself a favour and get away from this sort of argument: you're bright and able to grasp the accessibility problems. You could be a real help in improving accessibility across the wiki, but you let yourself get stuck into arguing the html equivalent of how many angels fit on the head of a pin. Why not just accept that all other editors' motivations are to improve the encyclopedia, and join in on that basis? You'd be very welcome. --RexxS (talk) 05:11, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Because when the html is broken, and one editor is informed (and not acting out of ignorance) yet nevertheless regularly and actively impedes any fix to that broken html, that motivation "to improve the encyclopedia" becomes questionable. It is Nymf's job to provide justification for Nymf's behaviour. Not yours. Please stop distracting from the point. Gimmetoo (talk) 06:14, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
I have explained my reasoning, and RexxS is free to chime in and further expand upon that point. Nymf hideliho! 07:38, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
That is not an answer on point. I simply do not understand why you actively impede any fix for this problem. The alleged "MOS requirement" doesn't hold water. You may think the problem is trivial, but that doesn't justify actively impeding other editors. Nor does it justify your attacks on me. I do not understand your motivation here. Please explain why you continuously revert any fix for this issue? Gimmetoo (talk) 07:47, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
What personal attack? I think it is detrimental to the project that an outdated browser should be used as a benchmark for setting standards. I have said this more than once - in more than one discussion - and I am not going to elaborate much further on it than that. Nymf hideliho! 08:06, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Interesting framing. Browser compatibility is a factor in determining html. Your editing would appear to say that it is 100% completely and perfectly acceptable to knowingly and intentionally break compatibility with a browser even when an trivial modification is available to provide compatibility. Would you apply the same principle to any other issue - ie, if a browser upgrade would fix a problem, you would never support a change to HTML to provide compatibility? Do you think that is in accord with WMF compatibility guidelines? Would you even follow WMF compatibility guidelines if they disagreed with you? Gimmetoo (talk) 08:15, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
The repeated inquiry regarding motivation when the user has already explained what their reasoning is implies that you think Nymf has a hidden agenda of some kind. I am not seeing anyone attacking you, either, Gimmetoo. --Ninja Dianna (Talk) 08:03, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
So indulge me - what is the reason? Gimmetoo (talk) 08:15, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Your repeated demands for an explanation that has already been provided, on the insistence that something else is going on, is strange. It seems fairly obvious to me that to change literally thousands of filmography tables to support a little-used outdated browser is not a good use of our editor time. Editor time is our sole asset here on Wikipedia. Regards, --Ninja Dianna (Talk) 20:44, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Had certain editors constructed the filmography format to be compatible when this was a current browser, and had not spent more than a year obstructing any attempt at fixing the issue, it wouldn't be an issue now, would it? Gimmetoo (talk) 20:56, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
It's not an issue now; it's a non-issue, as it affects such a miniscule number of users. You are the only one who supports the format you are promoting, and if you are still mad at Jack Merridew after all this time, it is perhaps your own motivations that you should examine, not NYMF's. --Ninja Dianna (Talk) 21:00, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Typical distraction. Address the issue, which is your and Nymf's editing behaviour. Gimmetoo (talk) 21:04, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
It is interesting to note that you yourself have just admitted that Safari 4 is no longer a current browser. --Ninja Dianna (Talk) 21:14, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
Really? Why? And why won't you respond about your editing behaviour? Gimmetoo (talk) 21:33, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
All I've done is post on some talk pages. Not sure what editing behaviour you are referring to? I can't find any diffs that are sketchy. --Ninja Dianna (Talk) 21:42, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
That reply is really quite a problem for you. Are you sure you want to stick with that? Gimmetoo (talk) 06:34, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Bale

I very intentionally left the conversation on the Talk:Christian Bale, but collapsed, because I assumed a new/unconfirmed user wouldn't know about edit summaries, and would just be either bitter or confused that their words were removed, and then possibly repost them. Collapsing it let me keep them there but still leave a clear explanation as to why the subject matter would not be discussed. Maybe in a week or two it could be removed, or we could just let it stay there until it gets archived. I do remove posts from talk pages per WP:NOTFORUM, but only when its an issue that's been raised multiple times, or it's also WP:SOAPBOXing. Your 14:55 27 Sep 2011 Anna Kendrick Edit

Please direct me to where in the Policies or Guidelines it clearly characterizes what I added to her Personal Life as "trivia." I have read the full debate here about Trivia and it appears to be talking about a very different kind of information. My information was based on Anna Kendrick's direct words and was cited.Jack Godell (talk) 13:02, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

It is quite clear to me that it is trivia. What purpose would it serve having that there? Why is that little piece of information notable? Why is it important? WP:FANCRUFT, WP:TRIVIA and WP:INDISCRIMINATE covers it rather well. We rarely even add hobbies or anything even remotely related to that, unless it is somehow notable. Glamour Photography

Hope this is going the right place?

Not really sure how it is spam, on Glamour Photography, to point out that airbrushing is no longer done (except by the rare rare stickler for the classics) and replaced by digital retouching, and citing an article for more detail?

The reversion is just wrong.

I would not be surprized to find that over 99% of glamour photography today is not airbrushed.

And, any reference to airbrush is a left over lay term and missusage.

Also, not sure where to find a reply?

Rachel McAdams deletion

I notice you have deleted large parts of the Rachel McAdams page, including sourced reviews of her films and sourced quotes about her thoughts on the films. This seems to me to just be a matter of personal taste rather than any wikipedia policy (correct me if I'm wrong). In addition, if you notice sentences without a citation, please just add a "citation needed" template, as this is more productive. The article recently had a peer review, and it was recommended that quotes and tidbits be added throughout the article to bring it to Featured Article standard. At the moment, it's just very bare facts and not particularly compelling to read. Obviously, it's still a long way off FA standard now, but that's the aim, and you're more than welcome to help if you so wish. The review quoting may seem excessive at the minute but it's a work in progress and will be balanced out with information of character research etc. Also, what do you mean by "hit this/that"? Please look at the Reese Witherspoon article - I've been using that FA as a template. Thanks, Popeye191 (talk) 07:50, 9 October 2011 (UTC)

Double citizenship Russell Crowe

Hi Nympf, re. New-Zealand born: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:OPENPARA#Opening_paragraph, Sentence 3.1.: "3. Context (location, nationality, or ethnicity); 1. In most modern-day cases this will mean the country of which the person is a citizen or national, or was a citizen when the person became notable."

If New-Zealand born is not correct - is New Zealand-Australian correct? The subject is citizen of both countries. Was the part "New Zealand" cancelled because no reliable source was added? The person underwent influences of New Zealand culture between his 0-4 and 14-21 year which shows up in his choice of roles as much as in his opinions and behaviour, an important information regarding his Oevre. Embezzling the person´s New Zealand citizenship in the opening paragraph - see 3.1. - leads to an infringement of neutral point of view. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view
